About Candomble

An Afro-Brazilian religion developed by enslaved Africans in Bahia. Followers honor the orixas through music, dance, and offerings in houses of worship called terreiros, usually led by priestesses. It draws mainly on Yoruba, Fon, and Bantu traditions. Once persecuted, it is now a recognized part of Brazilian culture.
