About Kimbanguism

A Christian church founded on the ministry of Simon Kimbangu in the Belgian Congo. Kimbangu was arrested by colonial authorities in 1921 and died in prison in 1951. His followers organized the church, which became one of the largest African initiated churches. It joined the World Council of Churches in 1969.
