About Korean Shamanism
Also called Muism, the indigenous religion of Korea. Shamans called mudang, most of them women, mediate between people and spirits through ritual ceremonies called gut, with music and dance. It has influenced Korean Buddhism and folk culture. It persists in modern South Korea despite past suppression.
