About Shaivism

The Hindu tradition that worships Shiva as the supreme being. It includes many schools, from Kashmir Shaivism to Shaiva Siddhanta in Tamil Nadu. The lingam is a central symbol of Shiva. Varanasi and the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines are major pilgrimage destinations. Strong in South India, Nepal, and Kashmir.
