About Theosophy
An esoteric movement founded in New York by Helena Blavatsky, Henry Steel Olcott, and William Quan Judge. It sought ancient wisdom common to all religions and drew heavily on Hindu and Buddhist ideas. Its headquarters moved to Adyar in India. It helped spread Eastern religious ideas in the West.
