About Yoruba Religion
The traditional religion of the Yoruba people of Nigeria and Benin. Olodumare is the supreme being, and spirits called orishas, such as Ogun, Shango, and Oshun, are honored. Ifa divination is central. Carried across the Atlantic by enslaved Africans, it shaped Santeria, Candomble, and other faiths of the Americas.
