Baptists
About Baptists
A Protestant tradition that practices baptism of professing believers by full immersion rather than infant baptism. The first Baptist congregation was formed by English Separatists in Amsterdam. Baptists stress the autonomy of each local congregation and religious liberty. The Southern Baptist Convention is the largest Protestant body in the United States.
