A Protestant church formally organized in Michigan, growing out of the Millerite movement. Adventists keep Saturday as the Sabbath and anticipate the second coming of Christ. Ellen G. White was a founding figure. The church runs a large global network of hospitals and schools and promotes a healthy, often vegetarian lifestyle.
