About Svetambara
One of the two main branches of Jainism. Svetambara means white clad, after the white garments worn by its monks and nuns. Svetambaras accept that women can attain liberation and revere the canonical Agamas. The temple complexes of Palitana and Mount Abu in western India are famous Svetambara sites.
