About Ismailism
A branch of Shia Islam that separated over the succession to the imam Jafar al-Sadiq. Ismailis founded the Fatimid Caliphate in Egypt. The largest group today, the Nizari Ismailis, follows the Aga Khan as its living imam. The Dawoodi Bohras are another major Ismaili community.
