About Ancient Roman Religion

The religion of ancient Rome, combining native cults with gods adopted from Greece and elsewhere. Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva formed the Capitoline Triad. Public ritual, priestly colleges, and the Vestal Virgins served the state. Emperors received divine honors. Theodosius I banned pagan sacrifice in the 390s.
