About Aztec Religion
The religion of the Mexica and other Nahua peoples of central Mexico. Major gods included Huitzilopochtli, Tlaloc, and Quetzalcoatl. The Templo Mayor in Tenochtitlan was the ceremonial heart. Ritual and calendar cycles governed life, and human sacrifice was practiced. Elements survived in folk Catholicism after the Spanish conquest.
