About Ancient Mesopotamian Religion
The religion of the Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians, and Assyrians. Each city had a patron deity, such as Marduk in Babylon and Inanna in Uruk, served in temples and ziggurats. Texts such as the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Enuma Elish explore creation and mortality. It faded in the early centuries AD.
